friendship, marriage - my perspective

we talk about women liberation and equality and what not...... while i agree that women in certain measures are equal and supersede the men i also believe that in some cases we are not.

take for example, men are known to and have managed to maintain friendship with their school, college, and work place friendships irrespective of their age.


this is very easy for them bcoz they can meet up any place, a tea shop, a bar, a hotel....... with us women that's just not the case. we always keep entertaining our families and after marriage our families as well as the in-laws and are more into keeping in touch with relatives from both sides.


but having said so much i shud also admit that times are changing and there are a few cases here and there where hubby dears are also accompanying their lady loves to reunions and get togethers with their friends, invite them home for lunch and dinner.


but i guess our men will come around.... they certainly have come around quite a bit from where they were to where they are now, haven't they?


by the way, the intention of this article was not to hurt the feelings of male friends of mine. i think i have been an exception to this maintaining relationships and friends after marriage coz i got more friends only after marriage you see...........

it s really great to see long lost friends on the way to market, some shopping mall, some home appliance exhibition, and also greater to see some and just ignore coz you know what that conversation will have in store for you.

all said and done besides the fact that there are deterrents in maintaining friendship after marriage for women, continued efforts and taking time and keeping in touch would be a really great and rewarding experience and the fruit of patience and virtue is indeed very sweet.

Friendship, i just luv this and a lot of people luv me. i also luv and care and think of so many people who have come across in my life at various stages. sometimes i think do they stop and think of me as i do...... well friendship is all about not wanting anything in return right? but i feel that it s only human to expect and there s nothing wrong in expecting that the other person also reciprocates your feelings of friendship to you.

Technology helps to bridge this gap by the way of orkut, face book, and now area pal. this is the new kid on the block for people who are very much into networking sites like the above. i have almost signed into every networking sites possible just to stay connected and also to find out any old friends.

Many say that a few of these sites are not secure but whatever the greed of finding any one whom i have known even for the shortest possible time gets the better of me i guess...................
